Reba

Mama Reba has officially been in foster care for over a year.

She came to us last summer after her future foster was walking a group of daycare kids on a nearby trail. A heavily pregnant, severely underweight cat appeared out of nowhere, walked right up to the group, and followed them all the way back to the daycare center.

She even tried to follow them inside.

When she was brought back outside, she didn’t leave. Reba stayed there for the next three hours, waiting until her future foster finished her shift.

As they were leaving, a massive thunderstorm was rolling in. They stopped at neighboring farms hoping someone would recognize her, but no one did. With no safe place for a very pregnant cat to go, Reba went home with them.

Less than an hour later, she settled into a closet and gave birth.

Reba raised her kittens in foster care, and one by one, she watched all of them leave for homes of their own.

She’s been waiting ever since.

More than a year is a long time for any cat to spend in foster care, especially one who seemed to know exactly where to go when she needed help the most.

Reba has done her part. She raised her babies, adjusted to life in a home, and has spent the last year showing us what a wonderful cat she is.

Now we really want someone to see her, too.
